Information on how to enjoy this site by downloading and watching video clips
|
Choose your favourite item from the feature on the home page by clicking on the title of the item or the "View Now" link. This will take you to a page with more details. Here you can download a file according to the speed of your internet connection. There is often a small version for people that only have a dial-up phone connection, there is always a video podcast version, and there is often a larger broadcast size that easily can be watched and enjoyed full screen. Once the file is downloaded, you can save it on your hard disk. "Inspiration News", one of our regular features, published every Thursday, can also be watched by subscribing on iTunes. You can download iTunes here. You can also subscribe on Yahoo! or Democracy All our files are now in Quicktime 6 (MPEG-4) or Quicktime 7 (H.264). If you have not installed these players on your computer, just click here. It is clear that downloading works much faster with a broadband Internet connection. If you like to download videos and also view photos or slideshows in the SriChinmoyCentre.org Gallery section of SriChinmoyCentre.org site, then you are much better off with a fast connection. It doesn't cost that much nowadays, and you may find that it gives you continuous 24-hour access and you need less patience for downolading. To view previous features visit the Sri Chinmoy TV Archive (link also at the the bottom of the home page) or choose from themes on the left side.
If you want to publish your own video podcasts, here is a little help from our own experience. As the video is watched in small size in most cases, it is advisable to work with close-ups whenever possible. The picture quality will certainly be better when you use a 3-chip camera or one of the newest one-chip cameras with several mega-pixels resolution. Always keep in mind that the camera should have a connection for an external microphone because good sound quality is of paramount importance. If the final picture size is small but the sound is not good, people will not be able to enjoy it and skip to something else. Concerning the compressions I recommend the Podner software which gives good results in a short time. For bigger sizes (broadcast versions) you might go to Compressor but then you need much more time. If you have more questions you can always use this contact form Kedar Misani |
